Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between a shared network and a dedicated network? A dedicated network gives you a channel or link that you can use however you want, subject to the constraints of the channel and your contract. But many customers don't use the Internet very heavily; they want high speeds when they do use it, but aren't on the network all day, every day. For people like that, we have a shared network that is less expensive but still has the high speed and total security of a dedicated network. However, there are restrictions on the type of applications and amount of bandwidth that such customers can have.

  • Can I upgrade to a more/faster bandwidth if I want it? Absolutely. Most wireless customers can be upgraded the same day that they call. It might take a few weeks to a month to install additional T1s.

  • Can I use IP phones over your service? Yes, we have many customers doing that today. If you have a handful of IP phones you can run them over the shared network, but heavier usage customers should get a dedicated service.

  • Can I set up a web server that uses your service? Sure, but if you have a high traffic volume you'll need to get a dedicated service.

  • Can I get a static IP? How many static IPs can I get? You can have as many static IPs as you want and can justify, but you'll pay extra to get them. IP addresses are an increasingly scarce resource, and we have to justify their usage to ARIN every time we ask for additional addresses. We, and ARIN, prefer that you use DHCP if it works for you. But if it doesn't, we'll be glad to supply static IP addresses.

  • I want high reliability/availability/very low downtime. Can you provide two or more different connections so I stay connected even if one of the two connections goes down? Yes, indeed. We can provide two or more independent paths to the Internet to give you the necessary redundancy. In fact, we bond the two different connections together so that you get the combined speed, rather than having one connection in a standby-mode.

  • I already have an Internet connection from someone else but I want better reliability/less downtime. Can you combine your service with my other service to increase my reliability? Of course, and we'll be glad to do it for you. Unlike other suppliers, we don't insist that you buy everything from us; we'll work with whatever you have.

  • I already have an Internet connection from someone else but I want faster speeds. Can you combine your service with my other service to give me more speed? Certainly. The two services can be combined using load-balancing techniques so that you can enjoy the combined speed.

  • Can you provide me with a dedicated T1 line? Yes, and at very competitive prices, almost anywhere in the DFW market.

  • Can you provide me with a wireless T1? Indeed we can; our wireless network is constantly expanding, so please call for the current service areas.

  • Can you provide me with fiber? Yes, and at competitive rates. Call to check on the current service areas for fiber.
